From the ultra sound they knew that I was a boy but they couldn’t see what gender my twin was because it always looked as if my twin was sitting on my shoulders. Well that’s how she’s always been since birth. She is my twin sister Mollie.
My dad a self employed construction worker and my mom an elementary school teacher. I was 1 of 5 boys and my sister the only girl in the family. When my parents found out that they will finally have a girl they were ecstatic (especially after having 5 boys in the family). They dreamed of double dates with me and her. They saw us being best friends all throughout our lives. Finally my mom got to have someone in the family that understands her feelings. When my parents put their finger in my sisters’ hand she would arch instead of grabbing onto it. She responded differently than most babies and after a few weeks of testing my parents got the blow that my dear sister is mentally handicapped.
For weeks my parents didn’t tell anyone because they took it as such a blow. Since then Mollie has been the best thing that could ever happen to my family. Imagine it, five boys who were construction workers, wrestlers, hard nose, and insensitive. Now they had to live with a small little girl who needed all the help and love in the world. She shaped us and made us into semi sensitive men.
I can not imagine my life with out her she has made me into what I am. I’m so glad that she is around today to put a smile on my face. I love my sweet sister.
this is awesome. I love this post. You truly have an angel as a twin. Mollie is such a sweetheart.
